Our
Heroes
A Year to Remember
To say 2020 was a year to remember is probably an understatement. Just as quickly as the new year started, we found ourselves thrust into unprecedented times. We all had to adjust to a new normal in every aspect of our lives.
At Texas Health, our system quickly shifted to a new way of doing business as we immediately responded to the needs of our patients and community during this global pandemic. From the outset, our front-line caregivers have worked tirelessly to care for all our patients with compassion and courage. I always knew our Texas Health caregivers were heroes and seeing them in action only confirmed this bravery.
That heroism extends to all individuals who work for Texas Health. In every area of our system, our employees’ daily lives and work-lives were altered as we responded to COVID-19 and took on new challenges and responsibilities. I am so proud of our Texas Health family for their professionalism and diligence.
But there’s another group whose support was vital – the heroes like you within our community. You recognized our needs and stepped up generously to support our front-line caregivers through the COVID-19 Response Fund. Through your gifts, we were able to provide them meals, hotel accommodations and daycare expenses, helping to alleviate these worries as they responded to the pandemic.
Amid COVID-19, the greatest needs of our health system did not go away. You were there for us providing support for our programs and services both inside and outside our system walls so we could continue to meet the needs of all we serve. None of our work can be accomplished without your help and for that, we are extremely grateful to you. We hope you take some time to view our 2020 annual report, which highlights these key initiatives, and tells the stories of our donors and the patients and families benefiting from your gifts.
Thank you to our heroes – on the front line, employees in supporting roles, our donors, our community – for your support and generosity in 2020. You are the driving force of our story.
